Traveling can sometimes create a dilemma for those of us who love our jewelry and want to wear it on vacation. What is safe to bring while traveling? What jewelry is right for the beach and warmer weather? What to pack for maximum style impact? Here are some guidelines and tips to make those jewelry decisions less complicated.
- Without jewelry insurance to cover a loss, it is best to leave your most precious pieces at home; if you have insurance then make sure it covers you while you are traveling.
- Organize your outfits with matching jewelry, and then pack jewelry pieces individually in plastic baggies to keep clean and separated. If flying, add to your carry-on bag or purse to prevent loss. Choose pieces that can be styled with multiple outfits.
- Avoid wearing your jewelry in the ocean or pools; chlorine and salt can erode the metal and weaken it. Keep a soft jewelry pouch in your purse to safely hold jewelry when you remove it while out and about or at the beach.
- Choose colorful pieces for summer fun. Big earrings, a cuff or some bangles, a statement necklace and a small simple pendant, and lastly some fun colorful rings will keep your vacation attire fashion forward.
- Now just have fun!
