In creating a piece of custom fine jewelry, it is often necessary to first create a CAD (Computer-Aided Design), especially when a design entails significant detail. The CAD jewelry design is made on a computer with a specific software program that requires knowledge and know how to correctly execute. The CAD allows our artist/jeweler to make accurate predictions of metal weight and thereby provide you accurate pricing. Most importantly, a CAD jewelry design allows you to see a 3D image of the piece and approve it before it is fabricated. A CAD image is very enlarged and so it must be viewed with this understanding. If needed, the CAD allows you to tweak the design further before the piece is created. Not all designs require a CAD. Some custom designs can be understood with an artist sketch only. It just depends on what you want to achieve. Rest assured that Mia Gemma will guide you every step of the way through the process of creating artisanal jewelry.
