Three Diamonds. A New Beginning.
Our customer asked us
I'd love to create a wedding band using my grandmother's diamonds.
The Story
Three beautiful half-carat diamonds from her grandmother’s earrings and ring became the starting point for this custom wedding band.
Our client envisioned the diamonds aligned in a clean row, bezel set in a contemporary design combining white and yellow gold. She described the look she wanted perfectly.
“I want some understated bling.”
Because the diamonds were substantial in size and she wore a size 5½ ring, we knew that every design decision mattered. A ring can be beautiful, but if it isn’t comfortable enough to wear every day, it misses the mark.
As we developed the design, we created two CAD options. One separated the diamonds with slender yellow gold bars, while the other allowed the diamonds to flow together without interruption.
Although the bars created an interesting architectural look, they also lengthened the top of the ring and could have rubbed against neighboring fingers over time. After reviewing both designs together, she chose the cleaner version without the bars.
The finished ring beautifully showcases her grandmother’s diamonds in a modern mixed-metal setting that feels elegant, balanced and comfortable.
One of the most important parts of custom design isn’t simply creating something beautiful. It’s helping our clients make choices they’ll be happy living with for years to come.
“I absolutely love it.”
