Victoria Moore

Victoria Moore is a true creator when it comes to her jewelry. Specializing in Damascus steel, Victoria builds her works of art through pattern welding – a mechanical process in which multiple metals are layered upon each other, forged, folded, and reheated repeatedly. Through this process, Moore is able to use creative patterning techniques with the steel to make one-of-a kind pieces. According to Moore, “The movement of the patterned line within each forged piece is important to the development of each shape. Gold and diamonds highlight the movement of the line.”

“I make beautiful and unique objects entirely by hand. My work starts with creating my own raw materials that are then forged, fabricated, knit and dyed into useful and endearing art objects.

One body of my work is created from exquisitely patterned steel called Damascus Steel. I forge together bars of steel and iron while they are blazing hot. The finished objects I make from this metal are jewelry, utensils and tools.”
